I just need to ask a small question: Can i burn the iso of linux mint main edition (latest release) to a DVD instead of a CD and boot it from that?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

I can't imagine why not. (which is not exactly the same as saying yes), lots of distros are distributed on dvd only. The only thing you need to question is the cost, because Mint will fit onto CD so why use a more expensive media?

I want you to take a look at this post:
Will DVD Work?
In short, it may or may not work -- depending on the capability of your DVD drive. But you can not tell beforehand without actually trying it out yourself.
