My pps files do not work properly with Open Office. Especially the sounds are not played (well).

Sorry to break it to you, but I had the same problem a week or so ago. There really isn't any solution to it, and as far as I know, your animations probably won't work either. I think it has something to do with how OO and M$ PP handle objects and animation scripts.
