Acer Aspire

I run Felicia on my desktop, and made a live usb stick from that. I just bought myself an Acer Aspire with Linpus installed and SD storage instead of a hard drive. I'd like to replace Linpus with Mint, and to that end, I can boot fine from the thumb drive, but I'm assuming that I'll need to remove Linpus before installing Mint. Do I have this right? and if yes, how would I go about this?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

No you don't need to remove it - I think :)
Depends on how small the SSD is - if it is a SSD
Otherwise you could just create an extra partition of some 10 GB and install Mint
Can be done from the installer but better before you install (gparted or qtparted)

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it
