help burning iso

Postby Richmond on Tue Mar 17, 2009 8:36 pm

I downloaded Mint Universal, since it said it was "also" a live edition. However it is 2.4 GB, and when I try to burn it to a dvd I get a message saying I cannot write CD_ROM XA or audio racks to a dvd. What is wrong ? And shouldn't a live edition be 700 mg, not 2.4 gb??

thanks Fred

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

What program are you using to burn your ISO? Also, the Universal version is only 1.2 GB, so I am not sure where the 2.4 GB is coming from. Doubled somehow? Something does sound unusual with your situation. I have never used the Universal version, but I know the Main GNOME versions work on my end. What else can you share about hardware and software on your end?

If you only downloaded the Universal edition for the live part I suggest you download main instead. All the editions are live cds/dvds as far as I know.
