songs from imeem dont play

Postby jeisma on Fri Mar 20, 2009 9:44 pm

hi!

just installed (without a hitch!) mint 6 for the 1st time on my desktop.

however when i go one of my favorite sites, www.imeem.com, the play list is empty, can't play any song. :-(

right clicking on the play list panel, it says "You have version 10,0,21,1 installed".

what is missing on my install?

thanks!

Have you replaced flashplugin-nonfree and flashplayer-nonfree with adobe-flashplugin? This one-liner will do it for you, if you have not done so:
Code: Select all
sudo apt-get --purge remove flashplayer-nonfree flashplugin-nonfree; apt install adobe-flashplugin

I have tried opening some playlists and playing some tunes on imeem and everything works smoothly.

I downloaded Epiphany this morning, but I still can't get songs to play on Imeem. Is there a setting or plugin that needed to be used with the browser? I used to use Imeem all the time and really want to find a way to access music again. ~ Suz

garda gave you the answer, but you just kept right on going as if it wasn't there. :-)

Sorry, but I actually did try going to terminal with the one-line code to remove/add flashplayer plugins, but it's telling me they're not found. I looked through the packages but didn't recognize it. Still stuck here. ~ Suz

Just tried going through terminal again, and here's what I got:

sudo apt-get -- purge remove flashplayer-nonfree flashplugin-nonfree; apt install adobe-flashplugin

You made a huge tiny mistake; a typo.

There shouldn't be a space separating "--" and "purge". Fix that, and you'll be good to roll. :)
