How to set booting order?

I have installed Linux on my computer. I left the windows on other partition. What I want is to set the order... I don' t know how to tell it
When PC starts it automatically boots from Linux (ofcourse I can choose other OS as well), but I want that the computer automatically starts Windows.
I tried something like this:

sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.list

but it opened a blank page

The menu file name doesn't have an "i" in its extension...

sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst

If Windows is already in the menu, you only need to change the number for the "default" option (e.g. "default 2"), counting from zero down the list.
