I have recently installed Mint - 6 and it refuses to boot every time I use "Restart" from another OS. The error message on the splash screen says : Target file system doesn't have /sbin/init.
Can I create a replacement /init, or how do I avoid these system crashes, please?

You are not clear on this - can you boot straight into Mint?
How is your configuration
It could be something like thishttp://www.linuxmint.com/wiki/index.php ... annot_boot
Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it
