Amarok 1.4 in Felicia ?

Postby tazd on Sun May 03, 2009 5:43 am

Well i have just made the switch to Linux Mint after tryimng Ubunto 9.04 (which totally failed to install on my Dell Inspirion 1721) and all is running fine so far except for amarok. I really do not like Amarok 2, I was able to get Amarok 1.4 running under Ubuntu 9.04 by following the post here [url]http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1084971&page=3[url] but unfortunatly i haven't had any sucsess in Mint 6. So my question is does anyone know a way i can get Amarok 1.4 installed and running ?

Many thanks in advance for any and all help and guiedance.

I also have to say setting mint up with my Windows boxes was the easiest ever of any distro i have tried and it was also the only distro that instantly saw the Windows 7 RC boxes without any probs even though they were set up for the standard windows home group networking. Ubuntu, Fedora could not see them so well done to the Mint team you have a convert here :)

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

I got it to work, I just went to terminal and typed
Code: Select all
 sudo apt-get install amarok
and it automatically overwrote the new AMAROK. I'm using my own off-site repositories, but your milage should be the same.
