I have a fresh hard disk installation. mintUpdate does not open any window. It prompts for administrator right, then does nothing.

I have resolved the issue but it is not to my satisfaction. I was clicking ok, with no password because I had root user turned off (recommended). Turns out it wanted my user account password for account I'm logged in as.

Why is no error message when blank password it entered. This is good example of bad usability.
