importing photos

Postby tank on Sat May 12, 2007 9:14 pm

Has anybody been sucessful in importing photos from their camera to linux mint ?
I tried with bianca and now cassandra.
The dialogue box appears when a camera is plugged in :

[ A camera has been detected - There are photos on the camera. Would you like to add these pictures to your album? ]

I select Import Photos. Then nothing..........

Am I doing something wrong- have I not installed some picture importing program...
I also installed digikam and the option to import photos is ghosted.

Thanks for any help.
