I was running mint5 kde3 and did some update using adept. it said something about full update or something. well it installed kde4 and now durring boot i get a black screen with the little watch as the cursor, and it's fully locked up. i can get into the desktop if i choose one of the other boot options from grub, but everything looks funny. i think i wanna go back to kde but i don't really know how.

You have done a mistake by not caring about what you did
I fear a new install is the solution, it might just about be possible to fix but your system would not be in a good shape
