looking to install Windows 7 on other hard drive

Postby aaronleishman on Fri Jun 12, 2009 8:54 pm

I'm looking to install Windows 7 on another hard drive. What is the easiest way to reconfigure Gurb to see Windows 7 on the other hard drive? Also when I install Windows 7 should I unplug the hard drive with linux mint and gurb on it?

Thanks, Aaron Leishman

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

I can answer the second question. Definately unplug the second drive.

Windows assumes it is the sole OS and will overwrite GRUB if you do not.
http://blog.firetree.net/2005/08/26/duel-boot-windows-with-grub/ tells you how to boot from GRUB afterwards.
