notebook fan not coming on after hibernate?

Postby digitallysick on Sat Jun 27, 2009 1:28 pm

Ive noticed lately after hibernate that my notebook gets so hot, the fan doesnt come on. I reboot and then the fan runs full blast trying to cool down the notebook

Any ideas?

To be honest, since Gloria I don't really see much need for hibernate, as it boots in under 20 seconds for me, so I recommend just shutting down. It sounds like it could be a hardware issue where the fan is difficult to start up again once stopped.

Ive learned that suspend or hibernate the fan wont come on unless i reboot

I wish i had some type of manual command or startup script to kick on the fan
