I have a dual-boot system running Windows 7 RC1 and Linux Mint 7 "Gloria" RC1. Yesterday, I was moving a 3 GB folder from one of my mounted NTFS drives to another when the power suddenly went off. When I started my computer again, only the remainder of the files were present in the original directory but the folder was not visible in the destination directory in Linux.
It however was visible in Windows 7 but on opening it I got an error. I used CHKDSK to repair the filesystem and it made a number of repairs. But after that the folder vanished from even Windows. However, the disk space remained unchanged. I feel that the files are lost somewhere between the two drives. Please help me recover the files, I am at my wits' ends.
