HELP,just installed mint7,2 errors+black screen after logon

You have installed?
I read you as you have and I am a bit surprised given the error
This is a BIOS problem where the BIOS is Microsoft only - it is tuned to expect Windos
So if it says MS compatible on your mobo the problem is just that :(
The DSDT is compiled for MS alone
Solution #1 Boot with the live CD
Find /boot/grub/menu.lst in the installed system
Find the line that should boot Mint
When grub is installed it places the system being installed at the top of the operating systems divided from the rest with a line
Should not be any problem to find it
On the line for the kernel, which ends with "quiet splash" insert noapic just before quiet
Save and reboot
You could also create a custom DSDT file - see this topic
