taskbar no longer shows the menu for applications

taskbar no longer shows the menu for applications, ie. control panel i see the time and date, i can see for example if i open firefox it being there, and also when i close it (firefox it goes away ,, but not the controls to shut down etc. and the applications i have the gnome panel 2.22.2 it resizes auto. and i am running elyssa ltr

I'm having a hard time understanding what you are asking. If you are missing the main menu, right click anywhere on the panel, go to Add to Panel, scroll down, select mintMenu and click add.

thanks i feel verrryyy stupid,,,
however it is gone crazy now (mint)
i am now on my windblow$ pc sad to say so i cannot start to point all the errors coming up
one thing for sure it will not allow mint updates but it could be the server is down i do not know ???
