Un-installing Thunderbird

Postby bunnylover on Tue Aug 18, 2009 3:30 am

When I select to uninstall Thunderbird, Software Manager tells me that it will also uninstall mint-meta-gnome, but it seems that mint-meta-gnome is required by other packages.

What gives? My goal is to recover disc space from apps I don't use.

Hello, and Welcome to Linux Mint. You can safely remove apps you're sure you don't need, as well as any meta packages that depend on them. The meta packages are effectively just a list of packages installed by default, so removing thunderbird is likely to remove mint-meta-gnome and mint-meta-main which is ok.
