Hi,
Using Linux Mint 7 x32. I created a 2nd user which has no admin privileges. When logged in with this user, there are some differences for the desktop:
1. Appearance, Visual Effects, can only be set to none. (could be set to normal for 1st user). Graphic card is ATI Radeon 9200.
2. Created a new panel on the top, added notification area. The notification area is always empty. No network icon, no Mint Update notification icon.
Can you confirm this issue and is there a way to fix this?

2nd user, notification area has no icon
