I think that you have 2 options.

1. You can restart with your XP cd and do "fixmbr". This will give you XP back as the only option.

2. You can restart with your Mint Live cd and go to the partition manager and see if you have the boot sector in Mint.
Change this to the XP drive instead. And you will have the dual boot back as it should be.

But do NOT delete your XP drive, what ever you do. Be careful.

You can at least restart with your Mint Live cd and go in to the XP drive and copy out your important files to the 3rd drive.
Just in case.

Can I "uninstall" Linux Mint using the CD that I have, and if so, will this correct the GRUB Loading Error 17 problem?
Even if you remove Mint GRUB will still be on your MBR. The thing that worries me here is that your computer worked, and then it randomly stopped working which points to a hardware error or your hard drives changed order because computers are retarted sometimes. Reinstalling Grub isn't too hard and should fix it if it's a software issue.
I know that there are existing threads for the Ubunto flavor of Linux for this problem, but I am very hesitant to try it because I don't know if it will work, but mostly, because I am not confident in my abilities
Since GRUB is such a basic part of Ubuntu, Ubuntu GRUB tutorials should work for Mint. The main place where you'll run into trouble with Ubuntu tutorials is with stuff that use a GUI. As a general rule of thumb CLI = OK, GUI = MAYBE.

A few good links for GRUB:

http://www.linuxmint.com/wiki/index.php ... _your_grub

If it was me, I would wipe Mint 5 and install Mint 7. Installing Mint 7 over Mint 5 will upgrade your system and automatically reinstall GRUB, just make sure to back up any files first.
