Recording audio with Stream Tuner

Postby gvm12 on Sat Jun 16, 2007 6:56 pm

I once was told that the Stream Tuner would record any live radio into the home folder and I've seen it happening in other PCs but in mine. For some reason, I tune up a station and record it, but it won't store anywhere in my PC... what's happening? Please someone help me

I believe Streamtuner records the station to your Home folder under the name of the radio station. Double check that you have the streamripper package installed, streamtuner doesn't install it by default. Can you tune into the station? Does it give an error message? Try running streamtuner through the terminal and see if it gives you any error messages. If that doesn't work you could install exaile which has a plugin to record streaming radio. Also Amarok is able to do this with the RecordRadio script. If you go to the amarok website there is a scripts page where you can download it. That is personally what I use.

Recording audio with Stream Tuner

Hi, thanks for your suggestion. I do have streamriper installed and no error message comes up, but nothing is stored in my home folder as it should. Anyway I'm gonna just use a sound recording program.
