Sorry to hear that you are not happy with Mint.

If you look at the Ubuntu website I am sure there is a userguide similar to the one available for Mint which will lead you through the install.

It would be nice if the forum were able to help you sort out your Mint install so that you remain with us, perhaps you could give us more info.

Ubuntu has a save user setting option during the install; that should allow a fairly easy installation.
