[SOLVED] Trouble with mintupdate

Post by mikesol »

Hello guys

I'm in a university residence in Toulouse, France. Here there is a wifi connection called "CROUS31", so in order to get connected the university give you a login and a password. then you use that in the access page and ready, you have internet.

The problem is the other programs don't know there is internet available, for example mintupdate, always has the message "Could not connect to the internet".

Anyone knows a solution for that?

Thanks in advance.

The University is probably using a proxy server. You need to find out from the IT people the details of the proxy server. Then open Package Manager, go to Settings, Preferences, Network, Manual Proxy Configuration and fill in the details.

Thanks man

I configured the proxy with

Code: Select all

cache-1.in.crous-toulouse.fr
port

Code: Select all

3128
and works perfect.

Thanks again
