Mint 5 Daryna

Post by pompeyrodney »

I have an old machine circa 1998 that has a Gigabyte GA5AX motherboard and currently has Daryna installed on it. I am trying to update it through Mint Update but get a heap load of "404 not found". Can anyone tell me if Daryna is still supported at all?

I'm still running Mint-5 and updates worked for me today.

I don't think you can do a dist-upgrade from 5 to 7 right now. You could try

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
but you'll likely end up with a Mintbuntu Frankenstein.

The link submitted by richyrich provided the answer. Daryna is Min 4, not Mint 5. Mint 5 is Elyssa, a log term support release, with updates until 2011.
