Increasing the maximum volume

It seems an insult to arithmetic but PulseAudio Device Chooser will allow for volume settings of over 100%. It might be worth trying to adapt these instructions to the appropriate output device.

indeed, I've found that pulseaudio does very good software amplification, you can use pacmd from the terminal if you're confident with it (you need to read the man page) one warning: don't type exit, use Ctrl+d instead.
