CD Upgrading and Repository CD

Hi all, I'm a newcomer in linux 'jungle' :)

Is it possible to upgrade from 2.2 to 3.0 using kind of 'alternate CD' as edgy does? Also is there any kind of 'linuxmint extras' or 'repository CD' thing around?

FYI, the connection at my home is terrible, and I only able to obtain packages via my college's lab and sometimes facing trouble with dependencies. :(

Thumbs up for linuxmint!

There is for Bianca:

The Cassandra repository is still accepting new packages and new versions so it doesn't make sense for us to freeze it on a CD, not yet anyway.

In order to upgrade to Cassandra, the best thing is to have /home on its own partition and then do a fresh install over it. You can get the Cassandra CD here:

Gee, thanks Clem, that surely helps.

One thing I forgot to tell is that while I'm unlucky enough to have poor connection at home, I'm lucky enough to experience high speed internet at my college. Actually that was the way I get Bianca.

So, is there any other link(s) where I can download it instead of buying it, cause I ain't have that amount of money :(

Lots of thanks to everyone!

Oops... I didn't read other post here.
it's discussed on subforum called add-on CD(s) or DVD(s), right?

Terribly sorry!
