Where'd you install the bootloader (mbr)?

Linux Mint comes in many flavors, which version
did you try to install
What "states that the os failed to load"
Are you attempting a dual boot with Windows
What type of PC, Laptop, desktop
Can you boot up the Live CD so we can do repairs
If you can boot the live CD could you
give us the output of these commands
Run this in terminal[Menu->Terminal]
then run this in terminal
if inxi is not on your CD run this command in terminal
copy and paste the results and post here.
Depending on what you're trying to do
this could be a very simple fix.
Please try and answer all the questions
