can i change the mouse pointer size & color? if so, how?

You cant exactly increase the size of the pointer...but you can use a different theme, one that has bigger pointers.

To change the theme go to the preferences>Mouse settings and select a theme that suits you.

on a related question, is there any way I can change the number of lines my mouse wheel scrolls? Right now it only scrolls one line at a time.
