Postby topsy on Fri Nov 13, 2009 11:41 am

hey guys..its my first time trying linux mint and so far im impresse-d.Actually i was impressed when i tried it as a live cd on my desktop.so i decided to use linux mint on my new laptop.i completely wiped out windows 7 and im now using linux mint full time!!hehe..anyway...everything is going smoothly until i checked system monitor..you see my laptop has 4gb of ram but when i check it on system monitor it says i only have 2.8gb of ram.i checked the bios and memtest86+ and both say 4gb of ram.is there soemthing wrong that my linux mint wont detect my other 1.2gb of ram?something i didnt do right or something i need to do?..im running a 32bit linux mint on a 64bit laptop..maybe the linux mint 32bit isnt detecting my ram because i have a 64bit laptop?and if thats the case should i switch to a 64bit linux mint?

If you have a question that has been answered and solved, then please edit your original post and put a [SOLVED] at the end of your subject header
Hint - use a google search including the search term site:forums.linuxmint.com
