Do I need to upgrade?
I installed Linux Mint 7 recently on main home system instead of windows and have been happy, but just realised there is a new version (linux mint so do I actually need to upgrade? as in I don't want to upgrade just because its a new version, but what are the benefits of upgrading?

Re: Do I need to upgrade?
If you are happy with Mint 7 and everything is working well there is no need to upgrade if you don't want to. Some people are having problems with Mint 8 because of regressions Ubuntu introduced. The choice is yours but if you decide to go with Mint 8, try the Live CD and make sure everything works first.

jf i agree if you are happy just keep 7. i like to always upgrade to the newest version but that is just my thing and you can have problems when you upgrade/cheesemaaker
