Sound issue solution [Solved]

Post by JoeFootball »

Just posting this for other newbies that may be in the same situation. After spending the better part of the week trying every solution posted here to unsuccessfully resolve a sound issue that I had (sound worked for some apps, but not others, especially web-based flash), I was at my wits end.

Until this morning when I realized that don't think that I had shutdown the PC since the original install. Lo & behold, after a full shutdown, my sound now apparently works for everything. I have no idea which of the options I tried was the successful one, but just wanted to offer the supplementary option of a full shutdown to others in the same boat.

Perhaps it was common sense to do so, but it's not the first time that it's missed me. :)
