running wine for windows programs

hello i just started using linux and like it alot better than windows. what i cant figure out though is how to use some of it.i want to download irfanview for my photos and i read somewhere that you can use wine to run it i have wine in my menu but i dont know how to install irfanview and run it inside wine 1.0 thanks! for any help

If wine is correctly installed a right click on an exe file should display "open with wine". That will launch your exe file as if you were in Windows.
