Whats The Time????

I've been having an issue lately with the clock and date going out of sync. I seem to be resetting it to the correct time each time I log in. This has also caused trouble booting up.
How?
The date and time may be a day ahead of the what it should be, I set it back to the right date and time.
When I next boot up, it detects a problem, after a scan it detects that the time has changed and says something like "Error last login was in future" or something like that.
It's then able to fix the proble then login but I'm still getting the clock &date out of sync.

This is getting very anoying and fustrating.

This is what is needed before answering such a question, that is more context/more data, a description of your hardware and system

Clock setup..hwclock..
  • Make sure the BIOS of the computer is also set to the correct localtime..

However, if you run multiboot (dual-boot) with windows OS, the time has to be set as local time
--and any updates from Mint applied, like tzdata (that fixed up some clock issues some time ago)
