Display Fading while idle

Post by StAugGator »

Hi everyone,

I'm running Linux Mint 8 Gnome and am having a problem with the display fading when I leave it idle, but it is not going to sleep. Is there a way I can stop it? It's getting annoying because it is happening to me while I watch videos on Hulu, Youtube, etc. while I have the videos on full screen.

Thanks for your help everyone.

I think it is just your screensaver, it is set by default to blank screen in 5 minutes. Just increase the time.

Another possibility is to check your Power Management Preferences.

Under both the On AC Power and On Battery Power tabs there are check box options to dim the display when idle.
