requires password on coming on after suspend SOLVED

i had to do a reinstall of mint 8 due to some firefox add on issues.

now everything is working fine, except computer asks me for password on coming back on from suspend

i had set it so no password was required, however i cannot find out how to do that, despite searching the forums (where i had learnt it previously)

can you pls adv what i need to configure so that computer comes awake from suspend without requiring a password

I don't use suspend but try this go to preferences >Screensaver and make sure the lock screen has no check mark in it.

Press Alt+F2 to get a "Run Application" window, enter "gconf-editor", and click Run. In gconf-editor, open Apps, open Gnome Power Manager, and click the Lock folder. In the right hand screen, remove the checkmarks after Suspend and Hibernate. Close the window and next time you use Suspend you should not need your password.

The control you suggested only locks the screen when the screensaver is running. It has nothing to do with resume from suspend.
