I apologize if this has been answered already -- I have tried searching but I think I may have my terminology mixed up and this is making my searching ineffective.
It's been awhile since I've used Linux, so I'm trying to get back into the swing of things. I have never been an advanced user by any means, and I used to have Slack installed, but my friend had to help me with a lot of what I wanted to do.
I remember he helped me out configuring the computer to boot to the console, and I had to type in 'startx' to get into the X environment. I want for this to be the case, but I'm not sure where to begin. Pointers, or places to begin, or anything would be greatly appreciated. Again, thanks for the help and I apologize if my terminology seems terribly misinformed!

Re: X Environment Automatically Starting on Boot
All modern Linux systems, including Mint, start X automatically. If you see any graphics, X is running.
Just ignore the "startx" step, and continue with your work ...
