more than 4 keyboard layouts?

Post by jameszinho »

Hi everyone,

I've looked around on the internet, and I'm wondering if there's a way to have more than 4 keyboard layouts for different languages. I'm running Mint 8 (main) on my Sony Vaio, and after I add 4 keyboard layouts in the keyboard preferences the "add" button is grayed out. Is there a way around this?

Thanks!

James

This is a Gnome limitation, you would have to use a different desktop environment though not sure if others have similar limitations.
[Edit] your original post and add [SOLVED] once your question is resolved.

Cinnamon has the same limitation :(

It is the worst thing for me in Mint/Cinnamon

BTW ElementaryOS has no such a limit (and it is also Ubuntu/Debian based)
