Track pad doesn't respond to mouse settings on Dell D600

I'm afraid they will have to share settings. I've seen somewhere that there is a method to let them have separate settings, but I have not found that method :(

Ok that's not how I read you :) But if you read this forum carefully you will find some examples of me not reading whats on the screen :):)
So regardless of how you change "Mouse settings" in the control center it's too slow?
There is a tool called qsynaptics (ksynaptics in KDE) that you might want to try - and where do you find this? In synaptic!

Search for "synaptics" in synaptic
gsynaptic is a GUI tool for settings, which I think helps you overcome the memory error and one synaptics driver is already installed in my desktop I think it's the other that's needed - i.e. install both
