The trash folder is kept at /home/yourusername/.local/Trash. Look in there for your files.

Do you mean your desktop icon has disappeared? or is it not available under the mintMenu either?

i thought i'm going to send you the preview of my screen, but i still cannot be able to do that in Linux. (sorry)

the trash folder is no where under /home/yourusername/.local/Trash,
the only folder in the /home/yourusername/.local/ is 'share' folder
so it is also not available under mint Menu

so, is my installation got corrupted?
is there a way to fix this?

thanks for your help

Which desktop are you using? If by chance you're using LXDE then there's no native trash support in the default file manager and everything is permanent delete.

And did you look in /share?

(sorry I missed that out of the original post, that is where it is - or should be.)

do you have gnome / KDE / LXDE as your destop... you might not see in KDE as they are customizible widgets...
try to right click on the panel - add widget
browse the available widgets you should have the trash folder there...
