New to linux, setting up vzw broadband [SOLVED]

Hi everyone, I just launched linux mint for the first time this morning. I have internet through verizon wireless but I'm cluelesss how to set up a working connection. I've noticed some old threads with similar problems, but have yet to find a solution.

Your post does not provide any information, please read the simple forum rules in the Red bar at the top. Have you tried clicking on the network symbol in the system tray?

Sorry, I set up a network connection but I'm not sure of all the information in the fields, APN I found something that says verizon uses vzw3g and tried it but it didn't work...

Running latest iso download from mints homepage.

Internet is normally run from a windows app (vzaccess manager) but I'm pretty sure it isn't supported in linux

Not exactly sure what info needs given, I'm pretty computer illiterate outside normal windows use.

More info as in my usb card? I looked its a pantech 190 usb modem, I tried the link to ubuntu, but the terminal command requires a connection to the net. I eventually found this pantech 190 specific thread on ubuntu http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=9123732 and downloaded gnome ppp from here http://www.gnomefiles.org/app.php?soft_id=41 but can't figure out how to install it manually. Been looking all day with no luck.
