How to enable Color for Terminal?

I used to use Ubuntu, now I'm using LinuxMint, the Terminal has no color for directories, files, etc...everything is white, how can I enable color terminal?

Hi

Am on Etch box at moment, but if you open terminal/Edit Profiles/Click on Default/ Edit and choose your setup from there.

make an alias for ls
