Currently using Mint 9 GNOME. Whenever i'm on facebook, using the chat feature to talk with my friends, after a few conversations, firefox would just close itself.
Then my brother tried to play PetForest, an online RPG on facebook, the game loads to about 99% then firefox would just simply exit again.
I need to reopen it again. No error messages are showing that firefox crashed.
This would happen several times in my session and my brother haven't been able to play his game.
What is causing this problem and how can i solve it?
firefox crashes, probably flash related?

Re: firefox crashes, probably flash related?
Try switching to the "adobe-flashplugin" and remove the "flashplugin-nonfree" from Package Manager.
If the problem persists, try running firefox from the terminal (just type "firefox", no quotes), when it crashes report back with the message in terminal.

Re: firefox crashes, probably flash related?
can't say that it's flash related or not, but thought i'd add that i've also experienced firefox completely & suddenly *disappearing*, twice yesterday for example. just doing normal net browsing.
running mint9 gnome 64, default firefox that comes with base install (3.6.3). [had installed, but disabled at the time, the "no-script" plugin also though]
can't pinpoint a specific action / technology that causes this (and not sure atm if there are any log i can check to try and diagnose). i've had to restart firefox (happens without issue) then manually reload / navigate to all tabs / pages i had open at the time.

Re: firefox crashes, probably flash related?
You're not the only one with the problem, that's for sure:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... mments=all
So far, I haven't seen a definitive way of resolving this issue. It's a high-priority bug though, so expect to see it fixed eventually.

Re: firefox crashes, probably flash related?
Yes, I believe the issue is "Adobe Flash" related.
Firefox caused the same issue for me over & over.
Crashed screen: "sorry, sorry messages" don't help.
So, I installed "Chrome" as my default browser & then installed Flash.
Now, I can replay highlights of the World Cup. Yeah!!
Anyway, Chrome is faster, better than Firefox.
Used Xmarks to syn. Bookmarks & passwords.
Yes, I tried the various terminal fixes I found online to fix Flash,
but I'm still a Newbie with Linux, so no resolution to the crash flash firefoxed.
Yes, I use Mint 9 as primary OS with dual boot of Win 7.
