Internet usability

Post by Dielan »

hey all i have Linux Mint 8, i just installed yesterday. This is like, the 5th OS ive had in a month. First Ubuntu 9.10, then 10.04, it ran slower than 9.10 so i didn't like it so i tried eeebuntu 3.0, found it ok but lackluster, switched to openSUSE, internet didn't work. Here I am at the mercy of Mint 8. Install ran great, wireless was detected but sometimes the wireless doesn't work, on my ASUS Eee 1005HA, i have the 32bit version of 8, and weither in the other room at 20% signal strength(which worked on Ubuntu 9.10) or next to the router(which is a shockingly low 78%) sometimes firefox wont even load google. Any suggestions?

Let's keep everything in one thread, shall we?

Edit: Ok, nevermind, there may be a few differences between you and the OP in that other thread; you're running different versions of Mint and are thus running different kernels. Let's gather a bit of information about your system first; type the following in a terminal:

Code: Select all
