Hi there,

I'm getting this error with my update manager and it doesn't continue updating. Also has the shield icon with a red cross which irritates me. The error is:

Failed to fetch http://packages.linuxmint.com/dists/isadora/Release Unable to find expected entry universe/binary-amd64/Packages in Meta-index file (malformed Release file?)
Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.

Any ideas on how to find out what is causing this. Started when I wanted to add the ubuntu-restricted-extras. I have done a complete removal of this but still receiving this error.

Thanks

I've got a list going of threads about similar problems here:
A couple of possible solutions in that thread for you to try including checking your sources list to make sure something didn't sneak in there that isn't supposed to be there or that you need to add something that's missing, or configuring your network connection differently.

None of the suggestions have helped me, but they have helped others, so you might be one of the lucky ones. Good luck!

(Your issue is slightly different - I just noticed that - but the solutions might still be similar)

Thanks for the replies,

Ok when I goto software sources and uncheck the first option which is:
"Ubuntu 10.01 'Lucid Lynx'
Officially supported
Non-free drivers
Community-maintained
Restricted software"

Is this normal? I'm pretty sure this was checked and working fine once upon a time.... -_- I also checked the sources list just to make sure there were no duplicates etc.

In fact here is my sources.list output just incase. If I uncomment the first line then I get the error.
