Welcome to Mint newzpirate
Something must have happened when you posted as two posts turned up. I deleted one of them
Use GAIM instead - it's in synaptic or you can use the terminal

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install gaim

There is no aim(aol) client for linux, what you can use is pidgin. Which is a far superior messaging client and it will also connect to aol chat servers. You should have pidgin already installed. Just look in your start menu.

heh the good man Husse beat me to it ;)

Just in case; gaim and pidgin are the same - only one is newer than the other :)

Well I stand corrected. Thanks newzpirate, I didn't realize they released aim for linux. For those that want to check it out go to: http://www.aim.com/get_aim/linux/latest_linux.adp. Maybe a mint install can be created for this?
