I'm running a fresh Mint 9 install and, whenever I power my netbook on, it runs straight through the quiet splash to the Gnome log-in without giving me a boot menu.
This wouldn't be a problem, except I'm trying to run the linux-rt kernel.
I installed it through Synaptic, and then I ran sudo update-grub, but I couldn't boot into it because I still didn't have a boot menu show up. I tried grub-mkconfig too, but no luck.
Could the problem be that I'm on a netbook and the screen resolutions of the boot loader aren't supported?
Please and thank you for your help

Re: No boot menu
Run Startup Manager and check the "Show boot splash" option.
That should bring the boot menu back.
