(SOLVED)no option to open as root

hello all

i have linux mint 9 installed... but i aint finding an option where you right click and open a folder as root...
please help me..

Hello jude13,
Right-click on a folder and choose "Open as administrator" it does the same as "Open as root" used to

but there isnt any such option either..
only one option that says open in terminal... :|

i was clicking on an empty area and workin my head of....its to be right clicked on the folder itself

how did you take the screenie? with screenshot tool im unable to get the right menu

plus i see you too like dark themes.. i love them :D

I used "Take screenshot" from MintMenu>Accessories.
I set a 10 second delay so I had time to right-click the folder to show the menu before the screenshot was taken.
The theme is Smoked Glass from http://www.gnome-look.org

ah yes of course... now i get it.. very lovely theme..ty for the link...

still learnin my way round linux and trying to get out of the win brain setup..
i do find many things confusing but as a i go i do find that things are really way faster and simple with linux...

thank you for helpin me out.. was a silly doubt sorry :oops:

i had put in a question asking if there is a mint menu applet for docks like cairo/awn etc... I do like the mint menu better than the gnome menu which most of these docks carry... any help would be great...

I use AWN and have never been able find a MintMenu launcher for it.
I don't know about cairo dock as I last used it about a year ago with a different distro.
I'll find your other post and put a reply on it as I would like to know if it's possible too,that will also bump the post to the top of the list.

ah good... atleast im not the only one thinking about a minty applet.. love the mint menu ... been hunting round google but couldn't find anything..

awn is very stable but i just like the animations and effects of cairo and the slider app... its a bit buggy and crashy though
