afternoon,
How would I install dropbox (file storage) on linuxmint? I tried it from the web,but get an error during install. I never had a problem with all the other distros. Maybe mint 9 is different.

All you should need to do is download and double-click the ubuntu .deb file from the dropbox site then in a terminal
Code: Select all
apt install mint-dropbox[Edit] your original post and add [SOLVED] once your question is resolved.

I'm surely no expert, but I've always downloaded Dropbox from their website:
https://www.dropbox.com/downloading?os=lnx
(If memory serves, I downloaded the one that says Ubuntu (x86 .deb) and it installed without a hitch.)

Yeah I tried to install mint-dropbox from the repos on my laptop, it installed, but it would never run. Downloaded the .deb from dropbox.com, got it installed, and all is well.
