Combining Multiple Swap Partitions - Boot Loader Screens

Post by RockyRX »

I just installed Linux Mint 9, Linux Mint 9 LXDE, Linux Mint 9 KDE, Linux Mint 9 Xfce RC, Linux Mint 9 Fluxbox RC and Ubuntu 10.04 on the same hard drive. Each has it's own swap partition. Is there a easy way to combine the swap partitions?

Can I just remove the last 5 swap partitions and redirect the 5 versions to the first swap partition?

If so, where do I edit the path to the partition each version uses for swap?

--

Each version copied it's boot loader over the previous boot loader. I'd like to use the main Mint 9 boot loader screen, instead of the Ubuntu boot loader screen which was installed last?

How can I get there?

Thanks RockyRX

Are you referring to the image at the boot screen? If so this link is to the section of the Grub2 tutorial for changing the splash image. Elsewhere in the same tutorial it will how to change to order of the menu items and the default boot OS.
