I have a dell inspiron 1525 laptop, and I'm considering wiping Vista and switching to mint (because windows and mac make me want to rip my eyelashes out.
). I was checking to make sure all my hardware is compatible, and I *think* it is mostly, but then I learned about the linux + broadcom graphics card issue. I looked at the linux mint compatability list thinger, and that would've all been fine and dandy, but my graphics card wasn't listed. I have the Broadcom BCM94312MCG according to the back of my laptop, but according to all the postings about the broadcom issues nobody else does. O.o I'm starting to wonder if the 9 was a typo of the label maker. Anyways, I'm afraid to jump in and go spend money on books (because I have no idea what I'm doing) and overhaul to mint because, well, what if my wireless wont work? I NEED my internet!! Sooo....could somebody help me? Tell me if this mysterious 94312 graphics card even exists, and if it works with mint? Or give me some ideas, or something?
