Top edge of screen unusable

Post by CaptainJupiter »

Hi there. I am new to Mint 9, Gnome. After playing around with display settings, the windows went haywire. I ended up with a blank desktop. Some more playing around, and the icons came back. However, I find now that the top edge of the screen is unusable by both my applications or even the desktop icons. The desktop background is there, but nothing can be moved onto it. It's like a blank panel up there. But my panel is at the bottom of the screen, and when I left- or right-click in the unusable area I just get the same menu as in any other part of the desktop.

The output from the lcspi command is:

Code: Select all

Re: [SOLVED] Top edge of screen unusable

The problem solved itself. I quit, then restarted. Mint did a disk check, and the opening desktop had a blank panel at the top. This time, when I right-clicked, a different menu came up and I simply clicked on 'Remove this panel'. So I'm a happy bear again...
